This storage unit is so clean and the climate control is great. Your belongings don't get any damage to them. The staff are so very helpful and pleasant. I was able to rent a unit right away. I'm very pleased with this place.

This place has a MOUSE PROBLEM. Be aware!!!!!! My experience was great until I had a horrible experience here at Astoria Prime Storage. As you see in the pictures, mouse droppings were all over in my storage unit and I had to throw out a lot of important belongings that were on the floor and my new mattress. Plus, I had to move all of my stuffs to another units and spent 2 hours on that day!!! When I found out this issue, I talked to an assistant manager there he said I should contact the insurance company and email to a manager to resolve the issue. So I emailed as he instructed but no one responded to me for a week. No joke. I was upset and called them to find out if they have ever received my email. Someone answered my call and when I told him that I had an issue last week (MOUSE DAMAGE PROBLEMS) and asked if he read my email. He said " Uh-huh" without any comments. I was even more upset when he responded like this. so I asked him again and asked what can he do for me. I honestly expected him to say 'Sorry' first, but he never said 'sorry' to me. And then he put me on hold for 10 minutes (I guess, he was reading my email then.) and said there's nothing he can do for me and just ask me to call the insurance company. What a horrible customer service person he is! I've been using this place for over a year and all I can hear is 'JUST CALL THE INSURANCE COMPANY'? You guys can't even offer me waiving the one month fee as a courtesy? After I talked with this horrible customer service person I decided to move out because I don't want to give my money even $1.00 to someone who doesn't care about customers. If a manager of this location reads this review, please note that you need to train your employees and teach how to take care of your customers properly. You just lost money and lost a loyal customer who can stay there for 5 years. DON'T GO THIS PLACE. Unless you want to face the mouse problems like me.

So you know: if they say they close at 10pm, what they mean is all of the key codes INCLUDING THE ONE THAT LETS YOU AND YOUR UHAUL OUT OF THE GATED PARKING AREA, are disabled at 10pm SHARP, and you will be locked in for over an hour while their emergency phone team tries and fails to reach the general manager, and eventually one of the emergency phone employees takes pity and gives you an exit code. Also, don’t be like me and not lock up your unit before you go down for your last load, bc your key code to get back up to your unit will also be disabled, and you’ll have to come back before 7am to try to be the first person in so you can lock it. For the record, no other storage company I’ve ever used locks you into their facility at closing time, or doesn’t have a way for folks who are already in the facility to finish up and leave when they’re ready. But none of my other storage facilities were in NYC. I feel pretty sure that nobody’s gonna be able to access my stuff after hours and steal it, since I couldn’t even get out!!! So that’s good. I just wish they had told me!!!! Ten minutes would have made all the difference between finishing up on time, and having to practice my dance callback in the loading dock for an hour waiting for a manager to never call me back in order to avoid a complete panic attack. Enjoy THAT footage, y’all... TL;DR: good facility, clean and safe and reasonably priced for the area, but employees are a bit rushed and don’t give you all the info. Times are hard and fast. No exceptions. Also, demand to be shown your unit. I didn’t, and got lost for ten minutes trying to find it. Hm... there those crucial ten minutes were...
